1998 Abstract:
This paper suggest the need for more integration between design and management, and surveys a series of such systems already at work in American zoos and aquariums. Several of these establishments take an entrepreneurial and team approach to all elements of institutional management. This trend may blossom into the next major evolutionary step in the future of American zoos and aquariums.
