2020: Jon submitted a manuscript for peer review and publication titled Facility design for disabled and aging wild animals scheduled to appear as a chapter in Optimal Welfare of Aging Wild Animals in Human Care, Dr Sarah Chapman and Sabrina Brando, Editors. Jon discusses facility design improvement with the potential to delay or even prevent the onset of age-related medical conditions as well as improving overall access and welfare opportunities for both disabled and elderly zoo, sanctuary, and research animals in human care.
